Soldiers Postcard

A custom postcard sent to a loved one back home from a U.S. sergeant during WW1.  The card reads, "You would never take me for a moving picture star. The knife is a bolo. Not being used to sunshine, it interferes with my eyes, so hope you will, excuse looks. See I washed my hands and face in my hat.

In this picture the soldier can be seen to be carrying a bolo knife, 1911 colt in a holster, and a pistol magazine pouch over his M1918 greatcoat.
